Neighbours of Burkina Faso in West Africa, Ghana is one of the few English speaking countries in that region of the continent. Ghana is the second largest producer of cocoa in the world and is also home to Lake Volta, the largest artificial lake in the world by surface area. It boasts too of huge natural resources, including oil, timber and diamonds, yet despite this fact, many of its people living in poverty. Drop Inn works alongside a missionary there who supports church leaders, who are very poor themselves. The church leaders he ministers to are actively involved in community outreach, specifically to the areas poor and needy. Our missionary partner here is also actively associated with church planting in Accra — Ghana’s capital city.

Some 24 million people reside in Ghana, comprising an estimated 109 distinct people groups. Of these, 19% are considered unreached. Some sources depict Ghana as a Christian nation’ labelling over 70% of the population as Christians. Upon further look, however, millions of these believers’ have no official tie to the Church.
