During May 2024, Amy and Fran returned to Zambia where we support education and feeding programmes.

We travelled to Mulambe village — on the outskirts of Kasama — where Drop Inn have a new sports ministry: a Girls football team. We watched an exciting game of girls football: taking photos, cheering the teams on and congratulating the winners.

There was a great turn out of supporters from the local community including a few of the player’s parents. And although they were speaking in Bemba (the local language) we could tell some of the boys were heckling from the sidelines but girls excellent playing was the only response needed!! We spent time chatting to some of the spectators, who were delighted to have this sports ministry set up in their community.

On Saturday evening Richard and Lana hosted their cell group along with their families. We shared a short time of devotion and worship while the children played. We then got to enjoying a wonderful Braai’ (BBQ) prepared and cooked by Lana with the a little help from some of the youth- it was a feast with: beef, pork, chicken and sausages! We had a lovely evening and it was great to hear and share stories of how God is working in Zambia and in Northern Ireland.
