Destruction in Haiti

Updated

Hurricane Matthew has caused untold devastation on the poverty-stricken country of Haiti in the Caribbean.

It was a relief to hear from our contacts, but the images they have sent through tell a terrible story of how the storms and floods have destroyed homes and villages. Nearly a thousand people have lost their lives and over 6 thousand families have been made homeless. Overall, the hurricane has affected 1.5 million people. That’s not much less than the population of Northern Ireland.

4 people who are connected directly with our work have lost their lives and 6 families we know have been affected.
